The Impact of Telemedicine on Healthcare Access and Utilization
Telemedicine, the use of technology to provide remote medical care, has become increasingly popular in recent years. This study examines the impact of telemedicine on healthcare access and utilization, specifically focusing on rural and underserved populations. Using a systematic literature review, we found that telemedicine has the potential to significantly improve access to healthcare services for individuals who live in remote or underserved areas. Telemedicine has been shown to increase patient satisfaction and reduce healthcare costs. However, there are challenges to implementing telemedicine, such as regulatory and reimbursement issues. Further research is needed to fully understand the potential of telemedicine in improving healthcare access and utilization.
